Capable of precise real-time monitoring of liquid flow rates of up to 650ml / minute, our Prep Flowmeter is a popular device for monitoring preparative scale systems used to produce larger quantities of pure compounds. To ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the food (FDA food contact criteria, NSF/5) and pharmaceutical (USP <88> Class VI, and USP <87>) industries, we have recently changed all Prep Flowmeter tubing to TYGON® S3® E-3603. Crystal clear and designed to resist flex fatigue and abrasion - the new tubing combines high performance with an eco-friendly bio-based formulation.

A major polymer manufacturer is using our COMBO-ONE DRI / Viscometer detector, as part of a GPC/SEC system, to characterize the structure of macromolecules that offer desirable performance properties. The client is a leading European manufacturer of high-performance water-soluble polymers for industrial applications. These polymers, although presenting a similar molecular weight and molecular weight distribution, have different physical structures which influence their performance in the target application.

A: In addition to being typically less expensive - our thermal flowmeters offer realtime data while Coriolis devices typically need 30 seconds or more to stabilise before readings can be considered ‘ok’. The variability of this time lag with Coriolis devices can introduce uncertainty into the accuracy of flow measurements. Additionally, the time resolution of TESTA flowmeters is just milliseconds compared to several seconds with a Coriolis device making them much more suitable for validating the performance and troubleshooting intermittent faults with liquid chromatography systems.
