TESTA Analytical has been granted a patent for our latest HPLC innovation. This patent describes a unique new HPLC check valve compatible with almost any solvent and usable at wide ranging flow rates. Check valves are one of the most critical components in a HPLC pump. Even the slightest deviation from perfect function can have catastrophic effects even on the simplest application. In addition to providing reliable long-term operation the new HPLC check valve has been demonstrated to operate flawlessly with traditionally problematic solvents including acetonitrile. TESTA Analytical is well known for its devotion to technological improvement and innovation. This new patent underlines the company’s commitment to developing the most advanced and reliable OEM products for liquid chromatography system manufacturers.

Many liquid chromatography users will have experienced how gas bubbles can result in changes in retention times, pulsating baselines, unexpected changes in peak areas, irregular peak shapes, pump outages and excessively high back pressures. Consequently, early detection of gas bubbles in tubing feeding a liquid chromatography system is vital to ensure the reliability of your analytical results. Our Solvent Line Monitor is an affordable device that automatically detects the liquid status in a transparent or translucent tube feeding a liquid chromatography system. It supports up to two optical sensors and provides constant feedback via an OLED display, as well as optical and acoustic alarms. The device is programmable in terms of sensitivity, mode of operation, and alarm reaction using a PC-based app. It can detect bubbles in tubing materials commonly used in HPLC, Ion Chromatography, and GPC/SEC systems and can stop your pump before a bubble can affect its operation and the reliability of your analytical results.

Our family of LC Flowmeters are renowned for their extraordinary accuracy, high reliability and outstanding overall quality. Recently, at the request of a customer ordering a new unit, a Model AB45001 LC Flowmeter was thoroughly tested and certified by a respected independent ISO 17025 accredited test facility. Results of these internationally recognized tests showed accuracy to be even better than the specified 0.2%, in fact in the region of 0.1% instead. Although expected, these results underline the outstanding performance and quality of our Flowmeters, making them a ‘go to’ tool for labs where traceable performance monitoring of their liquid chromatographs is key to their success.

Not a very long time ago, the need to wear seat belts in cars was often disputed and their use thought to be somehow cumbersome. Today, the value and safety of seat belts is widely accepted, and their use self-explanatory.
Likewise, today the need for regular calibration and qualification of HPLC pumps is considered time consuming and its value often questioned. Trust in the consistency of HPLC pump manufacturer performance specification is widespread, leading to extensive use of pumps which are never calibrated or qualified for the analytical task they undertake. If nothing unexpected happens during your HPLC separation and analysis, then flow tracking, calibration and qualification could be viewed as redundant, as seat belts were in the past. However, when driving a car, nobody wants to take a risk and of course seat belts are used, and lives are saved. Although not that dramatic, the situation in an HPLC lab is very similar. The true value of flow tracking, pump calibration and qualification are recognized often when it is too late, the accident has already happened.
Be safe, give your HPLC Pump the appropriate seat belt - a TESTA Analytical real time non-invasive flowmeter.
